LaDon (Don) F. Wiese started his 4-H career in Ida County, where he was selected as the outstanding boys' 4-H member his senior year. After graduation, he attended Iowa State University. His career has been centered in agriculture through farming, sales, and consulting. He enjoys being involved with the process of passing that knowledge to future generations.

Don has been involved in the Woodbury County Fair and 4-H program at numerous levels.  He served as a swine superintendent, which required him to oversee the entries and pen assignments for two swine barns. He also served as the fair manager for the entire Woodbury County Fair, requiring a great deal of time, organization, and resource and people management as he encouraged all the fair’s volunteers to work together.

He has served on the Woodbury County Extension Council for 9 years and has been a long-standing member of the Woodbury County 4-H and Fair Committee.  Here, his experience and thoughtful input have guided the rules and protocols for the 4-H program at the county fair.  Don has also been a member of the Woodbury County 4-H Foundation to ensure that the 4-H program continues well into the future.

Don married Nancy (Naab) and enjoyed 31 years of marriage.  His family includes his son, Jeffrey (Lisa), Nathan (deceased), step-sons Dwayne Naab, Todd (Linda) Naab, Corey Naab (deceased), and grandchildren Jen, Marissa, Danielle, Kyle, Meridith, and Natalie, as well as great-grandchildren Trey, Tate, Jett, Ryder, Dominic, and Jalen.
