Wayne and Roxanne Huinker have dedicated decades of service, leadership, and mentorship to the Winneshiek County 4-H program and the livestock industry. Wayne’s involvement in 4-H began as a youth member, where he sparked a lifelong passion for the swine industry and youth development.
Wayne began raising pigs with his uncle and started selling 4-H pigs. In 1981, Wayne and Roxanne established their own farming operation and have continued selling quality 4-H pigs for more than four decades. Through their work, they have positively impacted countless youth by helping young exhibitors learn.
Wayne has served as the Winneshiek County Swine Co-Superintendent and was a member of the Winneshiek County Youth Development Committee. They have both been dedicated fair volunteers, assisting with weigh-ins and supporting youth exhibitors in countless ways. Wayne has been instrumental in improving the county hog show and facilities, and his expertise is recognized nationally, as he has judged across the country.
Roxanne Huinker has also been a dedicated supporter of 4-H and youth programs. She served as the leader of the Washington Prairie Peppers 4-H Club while their three daughters were active members. She has clerked Static Exhibit Day and the county swine show for many years and previously served as president of the Winneshiek County Fair Board.
In recognition of their outstanding service and dedication, Winneshiek County is proud to induct Wayne and Roxanne Huinker into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame in 2026.
