Nancy has been a dedicated Linn County 4-H volunteer for more than 25 years, despite not having been a 4-H member herself. Over that time, she has made a lasting impact through her steady commitment and service. As a leader of the Wapsi Willoers 4-H Club, Nancy helped guide and mentor countless youth. She has also served as a State Fair booth volunteer, helping showcase the achievements of Linn County 4-H members and promoting the value of youth development to fairgoers from across Iowa.

Nancy is a strong advocate for project areas that can sometimes be overlooked in the hustle and bustle of larger events. She consistently promotes working exhibits, fashion review, and other projects that deserve recognition, ensuring members involved in these areas feel valued and supported. Her willingness to speak up on behalf of these programs has strengthened opportunities and increased awareness of the diverse experiences available through 4-H.

Nancy has also been an active member of the Youth Program Committee, lending her perspective, experience, and enthusiasm to program planning and implementation. She is also known for her willingness to help wherever needed, including community events and fundraisers, where she is famous for flipping pancakes!

Perhaps most importantly, Nancy has been a steady source of support for staff, volunteers, and families through times of transition and change. Her dedication and commitment to youth development have made her an invaluable volunteer and role model. Nancy’s service embodies the spirit of the Iowa 4-H.
