Warren and Peggy Rickelman have made a lasting impact on Warren County and Warren County 4-H.
Warren served on the Lee County Extension Council and several organizations within the community, as well as being a 4-H leader for over two decades. He always worked closely with the Lee County Extension Office and Iowa State University Extension to provide educational opportunities for his club members, along with club tours and guest speakers at club meetings.
While Warren served as 4-H leader for the Banner Farmers 4-H Club, his wife Peggy became the club leader for the Country Cousins home economics 4-H club for the Denmark and Fort Madison area. Peggy was instrumental in not only retaining the club, but growing a struggling club and making it more vital and active. She was creative with her ideas that she shared with the 4-H members. Her help and talent were always welcomed at the county fair. Lee County could always count on the Rickelmans to help out when needed.
Together, their entire family was active members and made 4-H a "family affair." Both Peggy and Warren are very deserving of this most prestigious award and are worthy of this recognition.
