Pauline Antons served as a 4-H leader of the Scotch Grove 4-H Club for many years, alongside her husband Richard. Together, they guided generations of young members, helping shape not only their skills but also their character. They raised two daughters who each became nine-year 4-H members, continuing the family's deep involvement with the program.
Beyond club work, Pauline shared her expertise widely. She judged open show garden exhibits at the Great Jones County Fair for decades and led and hosted showmanship clinics for youth.
Pauline's lifelong commitment to education extended well beyond 4-H. She spent over forty years as a math teacher at Midland High School, inspiring and challenging countless students.
Pauline has continually demonstrated her commitment to her community as a member of the Jones County Soil Conservation Board, the Grant Wood Trail Association, and as a Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) officer and board member. Her distinguished service earned her the Service to Community Award from the University of Dubuque.
Faith and fellowship have also been central to her life. Pauline is an active member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, where she has held virtually every leadership and committee role over the years. Even now, she continues to serve on the call committee, helping to find the congregation's next minister.
Today, Pauline is l00 years and 228 days old. Her century of service, leadership, and kindness stands as a shining example of a life fully lived in dedication to others.
