Kelly Swan is a wonderful example of a selfless encourager who continually inspires youth to make their best better. Her kind and uplifting spirit has touched the lives of countless young people through the many roles she has held within the Iowa 4-H program.
Kelly began her 4-H journey as a member of the Cornhuskers 4-H Club in Wapello County. During her time as a member, she was actively involved in static exhibits and livestock projects. She also held leadership positions within her club, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to 4-H.
Kelly continued to serve 4-H as the County Youth Coordinator in Wapello County, where she helped grow the program and encouraged youth. When her daughters became involved in 4-H, Kelly took on leadership roles in Davis County as a co-leader of the Chequest Eagles 4-H Club and leader of the Power Paws 4-H Club. She also dedicates her time to helping with kids’ games at the Davis County Fair.
In every role, Kelly keeps youth at the heart of all she does. She encourages young people to explore new opportunities, focus on learning, and most importantly, have fun along the way. It’s often said that Kelly loves 4-H so much, she “bleeds green.”
She is also a strong advocate for 4-H through her work as a teacher, where she continually encourages students of all backgrounds to get involved and discover new interests. Kelly exemplifies how one dedicated individual can make a lasting, positive impact on so many young people. We are truly grateful for her continued commitment to the Davis County 4-H program.
