For more than two decades, Cedar County 4-H has been strengthened, supported, and inspired by the dedication of Arlan Mohr, whose steady leadership and hands on service have shaped the experiences of countless youth and families, and who is also a Cedar County 4-H Alumni himself. His commitment to the 4-H program reflects the very best of what it means to serve one’s community.

Throughout his 20+ years of volunteering, he has been a dependable presence in nearly every aspect of the county’s beef program. He has contributed his time and expertise to the livestock judging contest, helping youth build confidence, sharpen decision making skills, and deepen their understanding of animal evaluation. During both the breeding and market beef shows, he has been a trusted ring helper. Exhibitors, families, and fellow volunteers know they can count on him for calm guidance and a smooth show experience.

Arlan’s service extends well beyond fair week. At beef weigh ins, he has been there year after year, ensuring accuracy, safety, and a positive start to each member’s project. Today, he continues to lead as a Beef Superintendent, providing mentorship to 4-H members including his nieces and nephews, organization, and a steady hand that keeps the program strong and youth centered.

Cedar County 4-H is proud to recognize Arlan for his unwavering dedication, his passion for youth development, and his decades of behind the scenes work that make our program thrive. His contributions have left a lasting impact on our members, our families, and our community.
