Nancy Carr has been a dedicated supporter of Van Buren County 4-H and Extension for over 20 years. She began her service in 2004 as Office Manager and later took on bookkeeping duties for multiple counties. After retiring in 2021, she returned in 2022 as an external bookkeeper, continuing her commitment to Extension.

When the office was between County Youth Coordinators, Nancy stepped up to keep 4-H programming running smoothly. She helped members with projects, fair entries, and record books, always encouraging them to explore their interests and try new things.

Nancy’s involvement extended far beyond the office. She attended 4-H Legislative Days, livestock weigh-ins, lock-ins, club meetings, and livestock judging events. She served as a 4-H Adult Mentor, delivered and returned state fair exhibits, and organized awards for the annual 4-H banquet. She also assisted a 4-H’er with the Beef Bottle-Calf project for two years, creating a fun and educational experience for both.

Nancy’s 4-H roots run deep—her grandmother was a 4-H member in the 1920s, and her mother was a club leader. Nancy and her husband Rex live and farm in Van Buren County, where their children, Amanda and Chad, were active members of the Horseshoe Bend Club.

Nancy believes strongly in the personal development 4-H fosters and the importance of family involvement. Her unwavering support continues to make a lasting impact on Van Buren County youth.
