Celine Beggs-Shoemaker was a 9-year member of Taylor County 4-H. Celine discovered her love of 4-H during her early years as a Clover Kid and 4-H member. She was active in project areas from home improvement to communications. The communication project was where Celine excelled leading her to Kansas State University where she earned her undergraduate degree. While at KSU, she worked as an activities instructor for the Rocks Springs 4-H Center. She also served as the Editor for the Kansas State Agriculturalist. During her summers, she served as the Taylor County Summer Intern working directly with the youth of Taylor County. Following graduation, she served as the County Youth Coordinator for Montgomery County as well as the Program Director for the Iowa AmeriCorps program.
Celine currently serves as the state 4-H Animal Science Specialists. She coordinates youth animal science programming. Additionally, Celine serves as the Iowa State Fair 4-H Livestock Superintendent, working with the Iowa State Fair Board and other partners to provide quality exhibition experiences for all Iowa 4-H youth. Celine was also instrumental in creating the first Campustown Showdown cattle show.
Celine has grown from an Iowa Clover Kid to leading the Iowa 4-H state animal science project area. Celine has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition for all her endeavors; and these traits were found and developed in 4-H.
Celine is an asset to Iowa 4-H; she is developing current 4-H members to become future leaders and give back to 4-H.
