Renee Peterson-Howell is a lifelong resident of Monroe County, living on her family’s farm west of Albia with her husband, Tracy. Her daughter, Lauren, has continued Renee’s 4-H legacy through her own involvement in Monroe County 4-H.

Renee was a proud nine-year member of the Mantua M&M's and Troy Troopers 4-H Clubs. Her active participation in projects—including horses, beef cattle, and static exhibits at both county and state fairs—helped her develop lifelong skills in communication, public speaking, animal care, and teamwork, while also building lasting friendships.

She has continued to live out the 4-H pledge through her dedication to service and youth development. Renee served 10 years as Monroe County Horse Superintendent and four years on the Monroe County Extension Council, including roles as Vice President and Chair of the Personnel Committee. She remains an active volunteer, assisting with static exhibit setup and horse check-ins at the fair.

Renee’s commitment to 4-H has not only shaped her personal growth but has also strengthened the Monroe County 4-H community. Her leadership, mentorship, and service make her a deserving inductee into the 2025 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
