Bruce Willemsen was on the Extension Council in Marion County and a former Leader of the County Line 4-H Club in Pella Iowa. He was very dedicated Council member, volunteering for many committees and projects. He was very supportive in getting people what they needed and leading the charge in making things better for everyone that participates. He was a proud business owner of Big Timber Barn Company and worked construction for 30 years. He helped and worked closely with the Pella Historical Trust on maintaining the heritage that he held dear. Bruce was always trying to find new ways to help the 4-H kids with projects and pushing them to be the best they could.
Bruce was at the fair for any task to lend a helping hand. He was very proud of his two sons that operated a show lamb operation. He was often found helping in the show barn, either taking pictures, helping clean pens, filling water, helping fill feeders or just holding a halter. He was the most supportive father in our 4-H years helping us with our challenges and tribulations.
Bruce passed away in November 2024. He had just been re-elected for Extension Council and was looking forward to another 4 years. He will be greatly missed in all aspects of Marion County 4-H!
