Shelly Ford’s lifelong dedication to 4-H, Extension, and the Madison County community has made her a cornerstone of youth development and volunteer leadership. Her journey began in childhood and continues today as a parent, grandparent, and leader of the Southwest Junior Stockmen 4-H Club.

Shelly’s leadership is marked by tireless effort and creativity. She plans meetings, activities, and service projects that keep youth engaged and creates a welcoming environment where every member feels valued. As one leader shared, “She genuinely loves the kids and treats them like her own.”

Her mentorship extends beyond group settings. Shelly invests one-on-one time with youth, teaching skills and building confidence. A standout moment was helping two young members learn to show bottle calves—her encouragement sparked their passion for livestock and the county fair.

Shelly also champions community service, encouraging youth to give back through organized projects and by modeling a spirit of service herself. Her efforts strengthen both her club and the broader community by nurturing future leaders.

In addition to her club work, Shelly is a reliable partner in Extension programming. Her “get it done” attitude ensures goals are met—whether coordinating fair activities, assisting with record books, or stepping in wherever needed.

Shelly Ford’s love for 4-H, commitment to youth, and tireless service have earned her the admiration of families, volunteers, and Extension staff. Her legacy is deeply woven into Madison County 4-H, and she is truly deserving of recognition in the 4-H Hall of Fame.
