Jody has been involved in 4-H in various capacities over the past 32 years. She married the late Dan Morrison in 1980 and has been active in farming ever since. Together, they raised five children—Kyle, Danica, Brianna, Kevin, and Mikayla—and Jody is now a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren, ranging in age from 2 to 14. Currently, 12 of them are active in Clover Kids and 4-H in Keokuk and Clinton counties.
Although Jody didn’t grow up on a farm, she quickly embraced the lifestyle, including becoming involved in 4-H as her children grew older. In 1992, she and Gerry Frazier expanded the Liberty Leaders 4-H Club, which she led until 2012, when her youngest child graduated high school. All five of her children were active members, participating in static exhibits and showing livestock at both county and state fairs. Jody has also served as a static exhibit judge across several counties.
Her true passion shines through in sewing projects and Fashion Review. She became the Fashion Review Superintendent in 2008 and continues to serve in that role today, helping her grandchildren complete sewing and clothing projects each year for the fair.
Jody is honored to receive this award. Her long-standing involvement in 4-H stems from her belief that the program showcases all levels of ability and allows youth to explore a wide range of interests—from livestock and communications to individualized static projects.
