Ed has made a significant impact on the Jasper County Fairgrounds through his many years of dedication and service. A former 4-H member from 4th through 12th grade, a 16-year member of the Jasper County Fair Board, and a parent of two children who have grown up in 4-H, Ed brings a deep understanding and passion for both the fair and the youth who participate in it. His commitment to the fairgrounds has been unwavering, and his leadership continues to strengthen the foundation of the Jasper County Fair.
As a construction professional, Ed has led numerous infrastructure improvements on the fairgrounds. He has played a key role in replacing concrete, installing a new PA system, upgrading the bathhouse, updating the vendor building, and addressing both waterline and electrical issues. His dream of building a new multi-use building gained momentum when, after grant applications were denied, he and a few other supporters began knocking on doors and successfully secured three-quarters of the funding needed. Thanks to their efforts, construction is now underway with hopes of completion in time for the 2025 Jasper County Fair. Once finished, Ed will have helped lead and support over $600,000 worth of improvements to the fairgrounds.
Ed and his wife Meghan’s two children have also embraced the 4-H and FFA experience. Like their father, they are quick to jump in and help with projects around the fairgrounds or assist anyone in need as preparations for the fair get underway. Their involvement reflects the strong sense of community and service that Ed models so well. We are honored to have Ed as a dedicated fair board member and a passionate supporter of both the Jasper County Fair and our 4-H program.
