Doug and Caryle Hansen exemplify lifelong 4-H values—leadership, service, and community. Both spent nine formative years in 4-H, learning responsibility and the importance of giving back. But their 4-H journey didn’t end in youth—it became a lifelong commitment. When their sons, Bryce and Evan, joined 4-H, Doug and Caryle stepped up as club leaders, impacting not only their children but dozens of other young members.

As leaders of the Center Champions 4-H Club, they helped it grow into one of the most vibrant clubs in the county, with more than 50 members involved in a wide variety of projects—static exhibits, horses, cattle, swine, sheep, poultry, goats, and rabbits. What truly set the club apart was the supportive environment they cultivated. Doug and Caryle made sure every member felt valued and capable, helping youth develop confidence, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging.

Their influence extended beyond the fairgrounds. The Hansens led service initiatives like food drives, volunteering at High School Rodeos and Barrel Bashes, honoring veterans, and supporting agricultural education. These experiences were powerful lessons in gratitude, compassion, and civic responsibility.

Even after their sons graduated, Doug and Caryle continued leading the club through their nieces' 4-H years. Their enduring dedication speaks to the kind of leaders they are—people who invest in others and lead with purpose.

Doug and Caryle Hansen have left a lasting legacy through their passion, generosity, and belief in youth. Their impact will be felt in 4-H, Extension, and their community for years to come.
