David and Cheryl Arnts have been active volunteers for the Buena Vista County 4-H program for many years. Cheryl is a Buena Vista County 4-H Alum and, as an adult, has been a club leader and served on our Youth Development Committee. David has volunteered to help at the swine show during the fair for many years and has helped many 4-H members make that journey from the hog barn to the show ring.
The Arnts have raised five kids who have been part of the Buena Vista County 4-H program. From livestock to static to shooting sports, the Arnts have done and seen it all. While their youngest daughter graduated two years ago, they have since welcomed two younger 4-H members to their Alta, Iowa farm to work with bottle calves. David, Cheryl, and their daughter Emily have done a wonderful job teaching these younger 4-H members all there is about bottle calves and allowing them to show the calves last year and again this year as 2nd-year bottle bucket calves.
Buena Vista County 4-H is so very thankful for and honored to have David and Cheryl Arnts as our 4-H Hall of Fame nominees this year. They truly “Make the Best Better”.
