Amy Jakes began her 4-H journey as the mom of a Clover Kid. Never having the opportunity to join 4-H herself, Amy encouraged her children’s involvement and invested in 4-H programs herself. Amy served as an Indianola Clover Kids Club leader before transitioning to the leader of the Panthers 4-H club in Warren County, where she served for over ten years.

Always supportive of her children’s 4-H projects, Amy became a rabbit superintendent, and just a few years after, she was convinced to let them get “just a couple bunnies” and continues to serve in this role. Amy has also participated in greater county 4-H programs and served on the Warren County Youth Committee for several years as chair. She also coordinates several annual workshops in the county.

With many hobbies and passions of her own, Amy regularly judges county fair static exhibits across the state, where she has a particular affinity for clothing and sewing project areas. Through her time as a superintendent, 4-H leader, and County Youth Committee leader, among other roles, Amy has prioritized youth involvement and engaging new families in 4-H programs. Coming from a non-4-H background, Amy has made a point to ensure everyone is welcomed and has a place in the Warren County 4-H community. Amy has been instrumental in empowering new families to join 4-H and the rabbit project in Warren County. Amy is passionate about promoting youth learning through 4-H and is a true servant leader.
