Bob and Carol Kabisch are no strangers to the 4-H community. They have three children, Eric and Nathan Kabisch and Bobbi (Tim) Pietz, and three grandchildren, Adam, Micheal, and Abby. Two of their children were Kingsley Krowners 4-H Club members in Plymouth County. Bob and Carol soon became assistant leaders of the club. They could be found in various livestock barns as their children showed dairy cows, dairy goats, sheep, and rabbits. They also served on the 4-H and Youth Committee for a couple of years. After serving on that committee, Bob served on the Plymouth County Fair Board and has been on the board for over twenty years. Carol found herself helping in the 4-H Food Stand back in 2000.

For the last twenty-four years, Carol has often been found in the 4-H Food Stand during the fair week. Bob and Carol have dedicated their time and energy to the Food Stand. When asked if they have a favorite memory at the food stand, they responded, “The people we have met along the way. There have been a lot of good memories made at the fair. Our kids grew up around the Fair Board members and the Food Stand, so they probably know just as much about it as we do!” One thing the 4-H Food Stand is known for is the pies. Carol makes, on average, about 200 to 255 pies for the week of the fair each year.

As 2024 is the last year Carol will be a manager at the food stand and Bob’s last year on the Fair Board, both can be found running Carol’s Kitchen, which is their catering business, or at various farmers markets and craft shows! Plymouth County is so grateful to have had people like Bob and Carol, who take so much pride in ensuring the 4-H Food Stand is a success every year.
