Sonya Gwinn has been the leader of the Russell Reivers 4-H Club for the past fifteen years alongside Sonny Atwell. She resides in Russell, Iowa with her husband Kenny of 31 years. Sonya is the mother to Levi Gwinn and Mallory Kromray and the grandmother to Kashdon, Oaklie, and Stetson Kromray.

Sonya graduated from Chariton High School. After graduation, Sonya continued to help her community in every way possible. Sonya loves helping everyone, especially youth, reach their goals. She loves being outdoors and spending time in the dirt gardening whenever she can. The county fair has always been one of her ‘happy places’ surrounded by her 4-H family.

During the fair, you can see Sonya helping 4-H youth get their exhibits checked in, working in the club lemonade stand and food stand, and always lending a helping hand where needed. Sonya spends the entire week of the Lucas County Fair ensuring all 4-H youth have everything they need to succeed.

Sonya strives to set an excellent example for all youth in and out of the 4-H program. She believes it is important for youth to learn to take responsibility for their projects at a young age so this will carry over into their adult life. Sonya has had and will continue to have an impact on the Lucas County 4-H Program for many years.
