Marcia Jordan has been a 4-H volunteer with Linn County 4-H for twenty-nine years. Her involvement with 4-H began as a youth when she was a member of the Indian Creeketts and the Prairie Union Wildcat 4-H Clubs. As an adult, Marcia transitioned into a pivotal volunteer role serving the 4-H program in multiple facets. She served on the dairy goat and swine committees, encouraging youth exhibitors and ensuring a smooth-running show. She also served on the Youth Programs Committee, offering guidance to the Linn County 4-H program, feedback, and support to county staff, and assisted with new and annual fundraising activities.
Marcia continues supporting the overarching Linn County 4-H program by coordinating the state fair selection room on static judging day, encouraging nervous youth. She also works annually to ensure the silent auction baskets are presented and ready for sale during fair week. She has served on the Linn County 4-H record book committee for many years, not only assisting with judging over 90 books yearly but also helping revamp and update record book forms for today's youth.
Throughout her tenure, Marcia has continued to serve as a club leader for Indian Creek 4-H Club, planning lock-ins, workshops, community service, and more. Marcia has adapted and changed the 4-H program over the years while also keeping traditions alive. She excels at identifying potential new volunteers and encouraging them to get involved. Her long-term commitment to the 4-H program can be felt through the generations she inspires.
