Erin Eichhorn has been an Iowa County 4-H volunteer for over 16 years. She grew up as a West Virginia 4-H member, participating in many projects, focusing mainly on photography and leadership projects. She also had the opportunity to attend numerous local and state 4-H camps, and the Citizenship Washington Focus trip.
After she graduated from high school, Erin attended Marshall University, where she was a member of the Collegiate 4-H Club. She volunteered and directed 4-H camps during college, where she received the West Virginia All-Star 4-H Award. After college, Erin interned with the National 4-H Council, where she met her husband, Chris, a 4-H intern from Iowa. Erin later became a full-time youth program specialist and coordinated National 4-H programs. After getting married, Erin and Chris moved to Hawaii, where she volunteered and helped with a local 4-H program.
When Erin’s oldest daughter, Katie, joined Iowa 4-H as a 4th grader, Erin started helping with the Parnell Peppers 4-H Club and, after a few years, became an official Iowa County 4-H leader. Iowa County 4-H is so rich in tradition, and Erin is grateful to be a leader amongst many great 4-H volunteers, staff members, and supportive 4-H families. As a 4-H leader for the Parnell Peppers, Erin's passion is youth development. She takes great pride in seeing youth reach their potential, encouraging them to become leaders in their club, community, and world. Under Erin’s leadership, the Parnell Peppers focus on 4-H projects, communication presentations, community service projects, team building skills, and simply modeling what it is to be an excellent leader and all-around great citizen.
