Kevin Richardson has been a key individual in the success of the Emmet County 4-H program. Kevin’s current role in the community has been as the IT Director at the Estherville Lincoln Central School District, as well as serving on the Emmet County Fair Board.
Kevin’s technological knowledge has played a significant role in helping 4-H youth showcase their accomplishments within the program, especially during the Emmet County Fair. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kevin set up a live streaming system for families and the community to watch 4-H members show their livestock in the show ring. Before COVID-19 and after the pandemic restrictions were lifted for Iowa fairs, he volunteered to set up the sound systems in the static building, for the clothing showcase, awards, and in all the livestock barns. Kevin sets up the TV displays in the show barn to showcase 4-H members' participation and awards throughout the fair.
Kevin has been a member of the Fair Board, bridging his appreciation for the 4-H program with those in the community. Kevin’s appreciation and value for the 4-H program have also been a part of his kids' lives. His two kids, who have now since graduated from the program, began their participation in Emmet County 4-H from fourth grade to high school graduation.
Kevin’s hard work, dedication, and willingness to help the 4-H program and community shall certainly be celebrated and appreciated. Emmet County feels very grateful and appreciative to have Kevin’s support with their county’s 4-H program.
