At a young age, Cheryl Tevis-Lingren got involved in 4-H as a member in Northwest Iowa. She participated in various sewing and baking projects. As a mother of two daughters in 4-H, Allison and Alexa, Cheryl guided them and their peers to explore the numerous opportunities within 4-H, helping them reach their fullest potential.

Cheryl also has been the Bluff Creek Wranglers 4-H club leader for 20 years. In this role, she motivates club members to take on leadership roles in various civic engagement projects. The club annually compiles a scrapbook showcasing all the civic engagement activities throughout the year. This annual book has been exhibited at the Iowa State Fair and has helped the club win the Boone County Club Citizenship Award for several years. Her leadership has helped club members see how much of an impact they can make on their communities.

While serving on the Youth Committee and Extension Council, Cheryl was instrumental in guiding the 4-H program and growing the program in unique ways to make the best better. Her knowledge of the 4-H program, experience as a Master Gardener, and work in the agriculture industry provide helpful insights and connections.

Cheryl retired from Successful Farming Magazine, where she served as the Senior Farm Issues Editor. She recognized at a young age that there were few women in agriculture, so she took her love for writing and highlighted women who were blazing trails in the industry. Cheryl is also one of the founders of the Iowa Women in Ag non-profit organization. Cheryl has generously dedicated her time to the 4-H program, serving as an inspiration to many.
