Clint Sandburg is a true cowboy with the 4-H clover on his heart. Clint’s passion for 4-H and the horse and pony project area has truly changed the Benton County 4-H program.

Over the years, Clint has served as the horse and pony 4-H superintendent in Benton County, where he prioritized creating a safe and welcoming learning environment for youth who have a passion for horses. Clint also knows how to make a fun learning environment for youth to be themselves and feel a sense of belonging in the horse and pony project area. During his time as superintendent, Clint made sure 4-H and FFA youth were prepared to have a safe experience at the Benton County Fair and was always a friendly face for youth and families during fair week.

Clint’s contribution to 4-H impacts the entire Benton County 4-H program as he served as the vice president and president of the 4-H Youth Committee. His priority of collaborating with 4-H staff and other volunteers helped to grow the 4-H program’s membership after difficult enrollment years due to the pandemic. He positively influences other 4-H volunteers and inspires them to remember the ‘why’ behind their volunteer role: youth development.

Benton County 4-H is proud to honor Clint Sandburg as a 2024 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame nominee! Clint’s passion for young people’s 4-H participation and the horse and pony project area is deeply appreciated and has shaped the experiences and opportunities of Benton County 4-H members.
