Scott Alt has been an integral part of the Audubon County 4-H program for over four decades. He has demonstrated exemplary leadership and has been a mentor to hundreds of 4-H youth. Scott began his 4-H career in 1977 as a Leroy Leaders 4-H Club member. He was active in his club, holding several offices and exhibiting beef and swine at the county fair. He also served on the 4-H Youth Council, where his passion for helping others and leadership grew, leading him to volunteer in many capacities in Audubon County.
Scott is currently in his 28th year of leading the same club he was a member of years ago. He has raised his sons in the 4-H program and set up a family legacy of caring for livestock and others. Scott has a genuine passion for working with youth. He particularly enjoys their excitement as they learn new skills. The Leroy Leaders continues to be the largest club in Audubon County and is informally known as "Scott's Club."
His dedication has expanded beyond his club as he has served as the beef superintendent for many years. As he stepped down from that duty, Audubon County needed a sheep superintendent and he stepped up to take that responsibility this year. He also serves on the Clover Commissions committee, partnering with youth and adults to make decisions and host events for the Audubon County 4-H Program.
Scott has put in many hours to ensure each 4-H member has had a positive experience, shown growth, and reached their goals. We hope his leadership continues to inspire generations of 4-H members.
