Linn CountyMike's journey with 4-H began as a youth in the East Wayne Eagles 4-H Club in Jones County. From a young age, he immersed himself in the 4-H experience, showing dairy cattle, horses, dogs, and so much more. In 2012, Mike extended his passion for 4-H by becoming a volunteer with the Linn County 4-H program. Mike's contributions to the 4-H program are vast and varied. As the Dairy Cattle Chair for both Linn County and the Iowa State Fair, he plays a pivotal role in organizing and overseeing dairy cattle events. He is not only responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of these events but also for imparting his extensive knowledge to the young participants. Mike has become a beacon of knowledge and mentorship, offering valuable showmanship and grooming tips to the youth as they prepare for their own showing endeavors.

Beyond his role as chair, Mike serves as chair of the Linn County Youth Programs Committee. He actively engages with other committee members, including youth members, to guide and support the 4-H program. As chair Mike helps support staff in answering tough fair rule questions. Mike is always there to support staff with honesty and a smile.

Mike's dedication to the betterment of the 4-H program is truly commendable. His unwavering commitment to the values of 4-H, coupled with his exceptional leadership and mentorship skills, have had a profound and lasting impact on countless youth. Through his tireless efforts, he has instilled in them the same sense of passion, responsibility, and community that he himself embraced as a young 4-H member.
