KossuthThe 2023 Kossuth County 4-H Hall of Fame nominee, Tom Henry, was a dedicated, lifelong member of 4-H.

As a young boy, he grew up on a farm and developed a love for cattle.  He showed cattle for many years and after his children were born, he introduced them to his love for farm animals.  He was a 4-H leader for as many years as his six children were in 4-H. Along with being their leader, he was also the 4-H basketball coach for boys and girls, where 4-H kids across the county had the opportunity to get to know Tom.  His love for the fair never faded after his children were grown, so he decided it was time to become involved on a different level. He was elected to the Kossuth County Fair Board and served on it for 26 years, with many of those years serving as the President.

One thing that any visitor of the fair could count on is that they would always see Tom Henry at the entrance to the cattle ring in the showbarn.  The one thing his kids and grandkids will cherish, because he never missed them showing their cattle. We are saddened by the fact that he can’t be here to share in this honor but be certain that his family is proud and know that he is indeed with us looking over and smiling.
