Iowa County is pleased to recognize AJ Schnebbe as the 2023 inductee into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. AJ is a proud 4-H Alum from Kansas, but we won’t hold that against AJ. A 4-H career highlight is winning the National Safety Award in 1980. To this day, she would be happy to share that speech with anyone. AJ is also a proud Kansas State University graduate with a degree in Ag Economics.
In 1999 AJ moved to Victor, Iowa. Where her husband Randy and AJ created RS Welding Studio. Shortly after their daughter Meredith was old enough to join Iowa 4-H, AJ’s gift of giving to Iowa County 4-H flourished. AJ has been active on every board related to Iowa County 4-H. Serving a term on Iowa County Extension Council, 4-H Leader of the Lincoln Loyal Leaders for five years and currently serving on the Iowa County 4-H Endowment (Foundation).
AJ is always discovering traditions “To Make the Best Better.” Not only has AJ given her time and talents to Iowa County 4-H, but she has also showed both youth and adults how to give back to 4-H. As a 4-H Leader, she has inspired 4-H’ers to step out their comfort zone and try something new. By taking this first step, you never know what it could lead to - like starting a new business. She was very supportive of Iowa County 4-H Day in the Life Day Camps in 2021 where 4-H’ers learned to weld at the RS Welding Studio. Or highlighting Iowa County 4-H Clubs at one of their Homegrown Grace Events, as well as donating items to the Livestock Sale and encouraging Iowa County 4-H’ers to be their BEST every day.
Thank you, AJ for being a great supporter of Iowa County youth, for your hard work and leading by example. To stepping up to help with anything: from fair check-ins, assisting in the food booth and always supporting Iowa County 4-H. You often have a fun story to share and proudly volunteer with a positive attitude and a smile on your face. AJ, you are truly one of Iowa County’s BEST.
