Ida CountyTammy Neubauer became the first member of her family to be involved in 4-H when she joined the Garfield Cloverettes as soon as she was old enough. During her years in 4-H she enjoyed exhibiting static exhibits and participating in communications and leadership projects, seeing many of these projects advance to the State Fair.

Tammy became a 4-H leader when her children joined 4-H. She remained in this role for 15 years, leading numerous youth, through their 4-H careers. She takes pride in having helped shape the lives of so many youth. She encouraged all her 4-H club members to participate in leadership and communications activities as well as to complete a record book each year. The ultimate highlight after all those years of struggling through record books with so many youth, was when her oldest daughter, as she was filling out college scholarship applications said, “Mom, I am so glad you made me complete a record book each year. It makes this so much easier.”

Tammy served on the Ida County Extension Council for 16 years, playing the role of secretary for the majority of those years. She has been on the Ida County 4-H committee for numerous years, and continues on this committee today. In 2009 Tammy was honored as the Ida County 4-H Alumni of the Year and later received the 4-H Leader of the Year award in 2011-2012.

Tammy and her husband Kevin, have three grown children, all of whom were 4-H members. Tammy has four young grandchildren that she looks forward to introducing to 4-H in the future.
