Emmet CountyJanine Kinnander has been a part of the Emmet County 4-H & Extension Program for much of her life. Janine was once a 4-H member who worked in both static and livestock project areas. She now dedicates her time to the 4-H program by serving as a club leader for the Iowa Lake 4-H’ers Club. She has been a leader for the club for more than 18 years! Janine is optimistic towards any challenges that occur and embraces the changes & growth of the 4-H program. Janine has passed down the love and desire to participate in 4-H to not only her kids, but others in the community as well. Her passion and dedication help motivate club members to participate and learn new skills that they may not have had a chance to learn. She is a great resource of knowledge and skills for the program. She has even helped as a static judge for county fairs. Janine has also served as a committee member on the Emmet County 4-H Foundation for many years. She has always volunteered to help wherever she is needed, whether that be helping youth prepare the buildings at the fairgrounds for the fair, helping her club with community projects, volunteering her time to certain activities such as helping with the “Kiss the Sheep” fundraiser, or guiding youth to explore their project interests.

Recently in the community, Janine has been recognized by the Betterment Club of Armstrong, IA, as a Citizen Volunteer of the Year. She also helps with her local church, bible camps, and assisting in planning fundraisers.

Janine’s hard work, dedication, and willingness to help the 4-H program and community shall certainly be celebrated and appreciated. Emmet County is very blessed to have Janine’s support with the Emmet County 4-H program.
