Rhonda started in 4-H while she was in school and showed dairy cattle during her time in 4-H. Rhonda and her husband Larry have five children and, their kids have all participated in several livestock projects during their time in 4-H. Their youngest, Miranda, graduated this year and completed her goal of showing every single species at the Chickasaw County Fair as possible.
While being a great mother and wife, Rhonda has been dairy superintendent in Chickasaw County for over 15 years. She has been a member of the Chickasaw County Extension Council and Youth Development Committee, and also the main organizer for the Chickasaw County and Big 4 Fair Queen for over 10 years. One of her favorite highlights is to emcee the rabbit show and dairy show as well. She loves to speak at county events throughout the year about the importance of 4-H and how much 4-H’ers grow in confidence and leadership as they mature in 4-H. She can always be found at the fairgrounds during setup and tear down of the fair every year, wanting to lend a hand anyway she can.
With her last child finally graduating and moving on to college this fall, Rhonda may be stepping back a bit, but she will still be in the dairy barn next year at the Chickasaw County 4-H and FFA Achievement Show.
