Lynne Rechterman

Lynne Rechterman has been a supporter of 4-H her whole life.

She herself was a 4-H member. She was a club leader in Cedar County for over 10 years and more recently, has served as rabbit superintendent. In Cedar County, she is the face of all things rabbits! From raising and selling bunnies to leading clinics and workshops for 4-H families to judging rabbit shows at county fairs, to bringing her rabbits to schools and care centers – you name it, she does it.

Lynne is known by 4-H members and their families from all over Iowa. As the Rabbit Superintendent, she spends many hours each year helping 4-H and Clover Kid members select, care for, and raise their rabbits. She also holds a pre-fair clinic to help ensure the members and rabbits are ready for exhibition. She is so excellent at guiding and teaching youth all the things they need to know.

Lynne, her son Brian, and her family friend Julia own and operate Rechterman Rabbitry. They raise and breed mini lops, polish, and Florida whites. Education is very important to them. She is a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association and has traveled the world showing and promoting rabbits.

Cedar County is lucky and proud to have Lynne as a part of Cedar County 4-H.
