Clarke County 4-H is honored to induct Doug Heaberlin into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. Doug has been a face around Clarke County for a very long time. He was an active member in 4-H and FFA showing at the county, state, and national levels, earning the Grand Champion 4-H Market Hog at the Iowa State Fair during his 4-H career.
Following high school graduation, he volunteered his time at the Iowa State Fair Swine Barn during and after college. He became a leader of the Osceola Go-Getters 4-H Club and has continued doing so for the last 17 years. Doug always goes above and beyond to remove barriers for youth to participate in 4-H and youth events. He has been a constant figure at the Clarke County Fair, helping at shows, setting up static booths, grilling for events, and corn hole tournaments, and is a former fair board member.
You can always count on him to provide a lending hand, help a 4-H’er in need, and he has never known a stranger. Doug is also very involved in the community serving as a coach for football and wrestling and assisting with the Osceola Wresting Mat club. He can always be seen at his sons’ Dallas and Brocks sporting and school events being one of their biggest cheerleaders.
