Margaret Skinner became involved with 4-H as a parent in 1999. As her boys became more involved, so did she. She has exhibited many years of service by volunteering to help with poultry and rabbit workshops, educating herself along the way so that she could further those programs in Wapello County and still continues to do so. She has served as an Expo Board member since 2010, and as the secretary of the Expo Board since 2015. Prior to being an Expo Board member, she was a co-leader of the Competine Co-eds 4-H Club for several years, encouraging and helping youth to their future path.
Margaret is also serving as the Rabbit Superintendent with her son, Albert. She is very active in teaching youth about the rabbit project, such as, showmanship, breeds, health, tattooing, and assisting with preparing youth and their rabbit project for the Expo.
Margaret believes strongly in the mission of 4-H and its ability to create strong communities and to help youth and adults both to develop the skills necessary to give back to their community through service and education. Margaret has a true kindness to everyone she works with and is very deserving of this award.
