Sharon Ford was a 4H member growing up. This developed into her helping with her children's' 4H club as a parent for a few years and then later deciding to take the role as a leader. She was a leader of the Bear Creek Pepper Uppers from 2005-2009. During her time as a parent helper she assisted with getting a grant for our local school to plant trees along the newly built elementary school playground. She has also helped with county fair open judging over the years.
Sharon helps young people and has also been an active member in the community. She retired this year after devoting 30 years to teaching. She got her degree from Iowa State and worked for AEA serving preschoolers with special needs starting out. She then took 7 years off to do in home daycare until her children began school. She has been at BGM schools until this year when she retired.
Sharon is also an active member of PEO and TTT. She has served on P.I.E. (Partners in Education) and Music Boosters at BGM in executive capacities. She has volunteered for countless school activities. She is active with her First Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn with Sunday school, Christmas Pageants, Vocation Bible School, making banners and is a former member of session. She also is a part of the Brooklyn Community Choir and donates blood whenever she can.
