Doug and Teresa Loerts have served Dickinson County 4-H for longer than many can remember.
Doug has served as the Dickinson County Fair Board President since 2017/18, is the sheep and goat superintendent for the county fair, and has been a strong supporter of the 4-H program even before his involvement in that position. Doug is a hard worker, a go-to guy, and always encourages everyone to work together to get the job done.
Teresa has been involved as a former club leader for the Okoboji Ramblers, and now is a co-Leader for the Dickinson County Youth Council! Teresa is always willing to help look things over, problem-solve, and pitch in where needed. She is dependable, earnest, and generous.
Doug and Teresa have succeeded in helping create a safe, educational space for 4-H'ers to learn throughout the year and showcase their exhibits during the fair.
Through their love for the program, their impact has shown greatly in the county. Doug and Teresa are known for their kindness, generosity, and always having a smile on their faces. They have always been present helping out with weigh-ins, set-ups, and supporting 4-H'ers individually. Their generous gift of time, energy, blood, sweat, and (hopefully not too many) tears hasn't gone unnoticed. They truly strive to make the best better in all they do, and Dickinson County is proud to claim them as a friend of the 4-H Program.
