Linda Zuercher is a very dedicated supporter of the Clayton County 4-H program. Growing up she was a member of the Luana Sunny Sues 4-H Club, and later she served as a leader of the Grand Meadow 4-H Club. While in 4-H she attended the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference, Citizenship Washington Focus trip, and participated in a county exchange to Wyoming. She served as various club officers and carried a wide variety of projects including dairy, food and nutrition, home improvement, photography, citizenship, clothing and veterinary science. Linda participated in dairy judging and was a member of the winning team at the Iowa State Fair in 1977. She was a member of the County Council and helped lead county activities.
Linda has maintained an interest in 4-H by serving on the 4-H & Youth Development Committee for several years and volunteering for various activities at the county level. In the spring, Linda volunteers her time to help set-up and organize the 4-H silent auction. She has helped chaperone the overnight 4-H lock-in numerous times. You will also see Linda at the county fair organizing the state fair food silent auction and clerking the dairy show.
In 2012 Linda was elected as the Clayton County Treasurer and currently is serving the county in that role. She has served as secretary – treasurer, vice president, and president of the Iowa State County Treasurers Association. Currently Linda is serving on the Iowa State Association of Counties Board of Directors. She is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville where she serves on church council.
Linda and her husband, Joe, are the parents of four children: Nick, Matt, Chris and Kaylie and have eleven grandchildren. Their children and now their grandchildren are part of the 4-H program.
Linda strongly affirms her 4-H experiences has helped her become the person she is today.
