Brent Martsching has been a part of the Appanoose County Extension Council for approximately 20 years, serving as secretary for the majority of that time.
Brent has been involved in 4-H for most of his life as a member of the Wells Rustlers 4-H Club, then serving as a volunteer throughout the Appanoose County 4-H Program. A few of the major contributions that Brent has been involved with are the annual 4-H Livestock Auction, beef weigh-ins and advocating on behalf of Appanoose County 4-H throughout the county.
While serving as a volunteer and Extension Council member, he has always been readily available to lend a helping hand as needed.
Time spent outside of 4-H, Brent continues to mentor youth through his career and his family business.
He has served as a school educator for 30 years with the majority of that time being at the Moulton-Udell Community School District as a teacher and a high school coach. In his free time, Brent operates a family farm with his wife, Susan, and children, Kalen (Natalie) and Shayla. They own a cow/calf operation specializing in beef production and take pride in raising quality show cattle. As a family they have mentored youth across the country through the show cattle industry.
Appanoose County greatly appreciates Brent's dedication to 4-H and all youth!
