The Iowa County 4-H Hall of Fame 2020 inductee has given her time, talent and treasures to larger service by creating belonging and engagement to the youth in our community.
Diana Roberts empowered youth to reach their potential for 30 years as a 4-H club leader of the Hilton Willing Workers. She supported 4-H projects and activities as the family and consumer science superintendent, communication superintendent, Iowa County Fair Queen Coordinator, and organizer of the county Bill O’Riley Talent Show in her 20 years as an Iowa County Fair Board member. Diana raised financial support for Iowa County 4-H programs to engage youth through her work with the Iowa County 4-H Foundation.
Diana’s introduction to 4-H was a great example of “learn by doing”. She wasn’t a part of 4-H as a youth but when she met and married her husband, who was a 4-H member, it didn’t take long before she started helping get the Roberts’ family horses ready for the show and later joined him as co-leader of the 4-H club. This grew into a commitment and loyalty to 4-H that she shared with her three children and five grandchildren who continue her work to “Make the Best Better”.
