Kevin has worked with 4-H well over 20 years. He started with his children being 4-H members and went up from there. Kevin has been a volunteer for the Davis County Fair Board for many years. He served as the board president from 2006-2019. In this role Kevin worked tirelessly to not only make the fair phenomenal, but every decision he made he made sure that it was always to the benefit of Davis County 4-H.
Kevin served as poultry superintendent from 2002-2005. Then served as small animal superintendent from 2006-Present.
Kevin, along with his family, have spent more volunteer hours than ever asked of them taking care of the fair grounds. The fair and 4-H program has always been special to him. If ever there was anything that needed done for 4-H, Kevin would never hesitate. “YES!” he would say and then proceed to volunteer to help with it as needed.
During the fair you will most likely find him parked in one the livestock barns for hours talking to the 4-H’ers, answering questions, and cracking jokes.
Davis County is honored to nominate Kevin to be in the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. He has and continues to represent us well.
If there was anyone that was an example of a model 4-H volunteer, Kevin is it.
