Constant, loyal, kind and knowledgeable are words I would use to describe Anita Jeltema. Anita was a crucial part of the Sioux County Extension office and 4-H program for 20 plus years.
Anita is missed since her retirement, and we appreciate the years she committed to the 4-H program. Because of her reliability and great knowledge, Sioux County’s 4-H program has been successful! We are beyond grateful to the many years we had the pleasure to work with Anita!
We use the words constant and reliable regularly when discussing Anita’s career. Because of her longevity with Extension, she was and is our go to for questions. She was always willing to give advice on how it has been done, what went well and how we can make it better! Mainly though, Anita was always there for us. She would help out in any capacity we needed and made our whole program run smoothly because of it!
We always joke that Anita is the reason we look good! Through the many years of 4-H enrollments, deadlines and county fairs, Anita is the constant face our 4-H families came in to see. She made our families feel comfortable and eased their worries. Extension work is a graceful combination of always knowing how to find the right answer or finding out who might have the answer. In addition, Anita never let a family leave without a complete answer or with contacts to the person who does have the answer!
We wish Anita the best in her retirement and are beyond grateful to the 21 years we had the pleasure to work with Anita!
