4-H has been a big part of this 2019 4-H Hall of Fame inductee’s life. Growing up in Kossuth County, she was an active member of the Cresco Chums 4-H club from the 4th through 12th grade. Some of her fondest memories of being a 4-H’er will always be county rally nights, chosen to sing in the State 4-H Conference choir, and being selected to attend National 4-H Conference in Washington D.C.
After becoming a mother, it was clear that her children would become future Kossuth County 4-H’ers, too. She became the leader of the Greenwood 4-H’ers, a role she held for 15 years. If you were to ask her what her favorite part of being a leader was – her answer would likely be having the opportunity to see young 4-H’ers grow from their first year in 4-H, up until graduation.
She was always challenged to grow herself as a leader, and would try to find different activities that would give her club members opportunites in the community. Her dedication to 4-H didn’t stop after being a club leader – she also took on the role of county fair judge in the food and nutrition, communications, and horticulture project areas, and still judges various county fairs today. She has also been a dedicated Kossuth County 4-H superintendent for 12 years.
We would like to thank this individual for her continued dedication to the Kossuth County 4-H program! Please join me in congratulating our 2019 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductee…Dianne Zeller of Kossuth County!
