Steve Buseman was a HUGE supporter of 4-H and the Floyd County Fair. He served on the 4-H Youth Committee as a valuable member for many years. During his tenure on the 4-H Youth Committee, Steve put in endless hours helping wherever he was needed. Always available to support and promote 4-H, he assisted with a float at the 4th of July parade, helped to evaluate record books and project awards, and set up the 4-H exhibit building. In addition, he also helped mentor 4-H members in woodworking, beef, goats and sheep projects.
In September 2016 Steve was diagnosed with cancer. During this time, he continued to spend time at the fair and at 4-H Youth Committee meetings and activities. When it appeared he was not physically able to work he continued his love of 4-H by insisting he was capable of the volunteer work.
For 2 years and 4 months he fought a valiant fight continuing to support an organization he loved so much. In January 2019 Steve lost his battle with cancer, leaving a huge void in many areas of the Floyd County 4-H program.
But despite all that has happened, perhaps his biggest legacy to the Floyd County 4-H program is the love of volunteering and dedication he instilled in so many others
