The Allamakee County 4-H Youth Development Committee is proud to recognize Brad and Mary Kerndt as the 2019 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame inductees from Allamakee County.Brad and Mary Kerndt

Brad and Mary are both Allamakee County 4-H Alumni. In their 4-H days Brad exhibited Holstein’s and Mary exhibited Guernsey’s, participated in dairy judging and static exhibits.

The Kerndt’s have continued to love and support 4-H throughout the years. As their own children have grown and out of 4-H, they were very supportive and helpful in any way possible. They have taken youth who have an interest in the dairy industry under their wing. The Kerndt’s helped these youth pick out dairy cattle to start their herd, to show dairy cattle, and to participate in the share a project program.

For many years, Mary checked in cattle at the Allamakee County Fair and made sure each 4-H’er was ready with their animals. Brad strives to have a successful milk bottle auction at the Allamakee County Fair. The Kerndt’s help make “The Best Better” with their passion for 4-H and the dairy industry.

This year’s Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Inductee’s continue to touch many lives through their support to the Allamakee County 4-H Program. Brad and Mary are a great asset to the 4-H program and their service to 4-H emphasizes the mission of the Iowa    4-H Hall of Fame.
