Lana Davis has been helping Scott County 4-H youth learn about animals for over 45 years. She started and served as a leader for the 4-H Rabbit Club, “Ears Lookin’ at Ya!” while her children were members of 4-H.
Members were encouraged to learn about rabbits, but also other projects of interest. Lana has been a recognizable figure as supervisor at the 4-H Rabbit Show for many years, helping exhibitors also learn from that experience.
Lana served as Superintendent of the 4-H Horse Show at the Mississippi Valley Fair. Safety and learning were top priorities. She believes all experiences are opportunities for learning – even receiving a white ribbon. “Top awards are nice, but a white ribbon can help you learn for next time!”
Lana also worked as a supervisor for the dog show and helped numerous members learn about the care and showing of their dogs.
Lana served on the 4-H Youth Committee, giving hours of time and discussion to the entire 4-H Program in Scott County. She is a volunteer who has given years of service to the 4-H program and her recognition is well-deserved.
