Myron Danzer has served as a Carroll County 4-H Youth Development volunteer for 10 years serving as our beef superintendent and as a member of our 4-H Endowment Committee. However, his involvement with Carroll County 4-H started much earlier. Myron grew up in Carroll County and was a member of the Willey Rockets 4-H Club. Myron served as the president of his club in 1973, which began many years of leadership. He loved working with his beef projects. His passion for agriculture was inspired by his dad, who was also his 4-H leader. 
Myron’s favorite 4-H activity was showing in the local carcass show each year and exhibiting at the Iowa State Fair. Myron enjoyed watching the Iowa Performance Classic and the National Western Stock Show to learn more about carcass quality.
Myron and his wife, Linda, raised four children. Three of his children became involved with 4-H and showed cattle each year. Assisting with Carroll County beef events is a family affair with his wife and children helping with weigh-ins, setting up for fair, show ring help and announcing at the beef show. For more than thirty years, Myron has been a Carroll County cattlemen member raising and selling purebred Charolais cattle. Myron initially began his time volunteering as the assistant beef superintendent before becoming our current superintendent. He has hosted youth at his farm to help them learn how to groom and prepare for the show ring.
Myron was instrumental in designing our new beef barn at the county fair. He worked closely with the Carroll County Fair Board on this project. His design included many upgrades that made the building and wash racks area safer for exhibitors. He is always putting the safety of our members first. He played a huge roll in fundraising and spent many hours building the barn.
Myron has increased the opportunities available to our beef exhibitors adding a cow/calf pen class for the exhibitors who show more production focused cattle, a county raised program as well as supreme divisions for both market and breeding shows. As the beef superintendent, he has helped to bring excitement back into the herdsmanship program. During his time on the Endowment Committee, he helped increase fundraising and as a result been able to support more members as they participate in 4-H camps, conferences and trips. Myron also helps with many other 4-H events throughout the year.
