Mary Clagett has been dedicated to the Worth County 4-H Program. She served as the office manager at the Worth County Extension office and was a member of the Worth County 4-H Committee. Mary has been an outstanding 4-H volunteer, 4-H parent and a long-time supporter and alumni member of Worth County 4-H.
Through her job as office manager, Mary is an excellent resource in keeping 4-H families informed of the multitude of events and activities of Worth County 4-H. Everyone has come to rely on her exceptional dedication and strong work ethic in serving 4-H members, parents, club leaders, committee members, volunteers, staff and friends of 4-H. The public learned to count on Mary for being the go to person in providing relevant information with regard to the county fair, club meetings, county 4-H activities, state 4-H events, and local 4-H workshops and educational opportunities.
Mary goes above and beyond the call of duty in making sure everything in 4-H is organized and done on time. She works with a host of other agencies cooperating with Extension, such as Farm Bureau, Worth County Fair Board, businesses, schools, youth serving agencies, community groups and 4-H sponsors. Mary’s efforts allowed Worth County 4-H to capture tremendous support and to thrive throughout the county.
As a 4-H parent, Mary motivated her sons, Tom and Reid, to excel in their 4-H livestock and non-livestock project work. She goes beyond her office managerial duties to judge 4-H record books, interview 4-H County Council candidates, assist at the County 4-H Fire-Up, and coordinates the 4-H Dog Show, Pet Show, Poultry Show, and Rabbit Show.
