Jayne Ferguson fits the definition of a great mentor. She provided countless hours of volunteer service and shared her knowledge of 4-H and the horse project area with numerous youth for over 30 years. Jayne is always ready to help anyone no matter what kind of help with their project they need.
She started with 4-H as a horse superintendent and then became a 4-H club leader for the Adams Champs 4-H Club. Jayne has continued her leadership role for over 25 years. Her two sons were 4-H members and she continues to mentor many horse project members in and around Mahaska County. Jayne has led various 4-H project workshops and strives to learn more each year. She provides an educational experience at each show she judges and provides a fun and caring environment for her 4-H club members.
Jayne has a passion for 4-H, horses, youth development, and being kind. Another word to describe Jayne is perseverance; she has faced some significant health challenges over the past two years and has now regained her strength and confidence, but she never lost her smile.
Mahaska County 4-H is proud to have Jayne Ferguson as a longtime volunteer.
