Tracy ScharperTracy Scharper served 13 years as the Mitchell County Youth Coordinator. During her time as the CYC she impacted countless 4-H members and other youth in our county. Tracy created project workshops to educate youth.  She worked with the schools and the FFA chapters to offer a Farm Safety Day Camp yearly to educate all 4th graders in Mitchell County on safety at home and on the farm.

While working in Mitchell County, Tracy developed the Clover Kids after school program which is held in both St. Ansgar and Osage and currently has 124 youth in K-3 enrolled.  Tracy was always looking for new ideas to implement that would involve more youth in Iowa State University Extension and Outreach programs. Her creativeness and caring spirit was contagious for members. She enjoyed working with 4-H’ers to provide them new opportunities whether it was in Mitchell County, on trips across Iowa, or the country! Tracy gave of herself and made herself available, working with youth individually to develop their skills and leadership abilities.

Tracy and her husband Terry have 3 children who are still active 4-H members. Tracy continues to volunteer her time to the Mitchell County 4-H program in many ways.
