Sharon Bergman has been involved in the Hamilton County 4-H program for many years. She began her involvement as a 4-Her of the Marion Merry Maidens club in Stratford, with her mother as one of the club leaders.
Later, as her two daughters became active 4-H members, she continued her involvement and became a leader of the then renamed, Marion Merry Makers. In 1993, she took over as the sole-leader of the club and began transitioning the all-female club into a co-ed club now known as the Stratford Spirit 4-H Club.
She volunteered countless hours, sharing her love and devotion of 4-H to many local youth, continuing to lead the Stratford Spirit 4-H Club even after her own children graduated. Knowing that communication is an important quality, she has encouraged participation in various communication-driven events. For quite a few years, she has sustained 100% club participation at the County Communication Competition and the County Fair Quiz Bowl. She has also instilled a strong sense of citizenship within the club through many club betterment projects, including updates for the county fair, donations to local hospitals and care centers and helping support the local Bluegrass Festival, just to name a few.
Sharon continues to share her passion and keeps the spirit of 4-H alive, not only in her community but also throughout the county. She is a wonderful role model and truly strives to “make the best better.”
